Who All Gon' Be There? Kingdom Influence Is Bigger Than Your Usual Circle

“Who all gon’ be there?”
It’s a familiar question. Sometimes it helps us know what to expect. But sometimes it reveals that we only want to show up where we already feel affirmed, invited, or recognized.
We go when we’re on the program. We go when someone we know asks us. We go when the room feels comfortable.
But what if God is leading you somewhere unfamiliar?
Kingdom influence is not limited to the rooms where you already belong. It can mean stepping into a new space with humility, prayer, and confidence that God can use you there, even when you don’t know everyone or understand the whole assignment yet.
That doesn’t mean every opportunity is yours to take. It means learning to discern God’s direction, steward what He has placed in you, and obey with wisdom.
Kingdom influence is bigger than your usual circle
We can become so accustomed to familiar places and people that we mistake comfort for confirmation. We may expect influence where we already have relationships, while overlooking the places where God may be inviting us to build new ones.
Walking in Kingdom influence means being willing to enter a room where you have no established relationships and still trust that you can belong there if God has sent you. Esther’s story offers a striking picture of a woman facing an unfamiliar, high-stakes moment. Mordecai asks whether she has come to her position “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14). Her assignment required courage, discernment, and action, not certainty about every outcome.
That is not a command to chase every platform or force every door open. It is an invitation to seek God and be ready to respond when He leads.
Here is the question worth sitting with: are your assignments Kingdom assignments, or have comfort, familiarity, and tradition been quietly making the decision for you?
You may carry something the room needs. Someone in that room may carry something you need. But you will never know unless you show up.
If this resonates and you want to grow in discerning where God is sending you, Deborah's Daughters offers prophetic discipleship, mentoring, and training for women who are ready to take the next faithful step.
Reflection prompt: Take a few quiet minutes with your journal. Name one room, gathering, or opportunity where you have been waiting for an invitation, a familiar face, or an affirmation before you show up. Then write your answers to these questions: What might God be asking me to carry into that space? Who might be waiting for someone like me to show up? And what is one small step of obedience I can take this week — not because I am certain, but because He is?
